Fujinon has incorporated the precision focus assistance system in broadcasting TV lenses for the first time in the world. The PF System represents Fujinon's thorough determination to enhance the ease and accuracy of focusing operation of camera operators as the professional assisting tool that has never been possible.
With digital technology incorporated for high degree of reliability and accuracy of lens control, DIGI POWER meets the needs of the next generation of broadcasting technologies. offering advanced performance and ease of operation.
With newest optical design technology, Fujinon has developed the digital servo control system DIGI POWER offering advanced performance of its zoom lenses. In addition to improved specification and performance, the utilization of digital circuitry in our DIGI POWER product line has made many new features available that were virtually impossible in the past. DIGI POWER lenses provide vastly improved accuracy and repeatability over previous designs and enable custom control parameters to be memorized for individual camera operator's preferences.
QUICKZOOM speed is 0.6sec. / 0.7sec.* from end to end. QUICKZOOM provides a rapid zoom movement to the telephoto position to check focus by the simple push of a button. Releasing the button returns the lens to the previously selected zoom position. Furthermore, by setting the switch, QUICKZOOM can be performed remotely from zoom rate demand units.

0.7sec. : ENG/EFP lens
QUICKZOOM solves the problem of having to reframe a shot after checking focus. This exclusive feature is a standard component on all of DIGI POWER lenses.
Utilizing the QUICKZOOM function can be an extremely time saving and productive production tools, by allowing a quick check if focus after a framed shot has been established. Simply press the Q.Z button and the lens zooms in tight at maximum speed, check focus and release the Q.Z button. The lens zooms out to the pre-selected shot automatically. No more guess work as to what the framed shot was prior to checking focus.
Zoom and focus can be rest and memorized in advance at a selected position. One touch of the switch during shooting will instantly return to the memorized position for time saving production.

A zoom mode switch provides the option to change the zoom response from "normal" to more sensitive on the wide side and the telephoto side. With the 3-zoom mode (10-zoom mode on ENG/EFP) the user can select the most suitable fine touch. These zooming mode settings are ideal when switching between positions such as drama and sports.

The zoom limit function can be used in the servo operation mode. By using this function, the zoom movement toward both the wide side and the telephoto side can be confined; therefore, zooming can be done within the desired shot angles.
This enables cameramen to operate the zoom switch without any hesitations or worries about shooting unnecessary areas. (Standard on: DIGI POWER Studio and Field lens, DIGI POWER ENG / EFP lens)
Pressing the C.Z button while zooming will fix the zoom speed at the existing rate. Pressing the seesaw switch a second time slightly will return the zoom speed to normal. Photo.5
Standard on: DIGI POWER ENG / EFP lens.
The maximum zooming speed obtained when pressing the seesaw switch to the end can be adjusted.
Remote control of zoom, focus and iris for DIGI POWER lens is possible via serial digital link providing accurate positioning for virtual studios and other applications requiring digital precision.

All Fujinon lens are compatible with the current 16:9 format. However, due to various methods of achieving 16:9 we feel it is necessary to offer the following explanation. Generally there are two types of switchable format cameras available today. One type utilizes 16:9 format CCD's and switches to the 4:3 aspect ratio. The other utilizes 4:3 CCD's and switches to the 16:9 format. When the 16:9 CCD type system is employed it is necessary to compensate for an approximately 20% loss in angle of view when switching to the 4:3 aspect ratio.
Fujinon offers an optional ratio converter, which is located in the extender turret of studio and field lens and ENG/EFP lens with this converter built into an enlarged extender housing.
This system allows for quick manual framing of a shot without the need to select the manual operation. Adjusting the focus manually automatically disengages the servo, which is then automatically re-engaged, when the manual focus operation is stopped. (Optional: DIGI POWER ENG / EFP lens)

This system allows macro shooting as 0.3m (0.05m on HA27x6.5) from the object. Focus fader is also possible at the wide end with the use of a simple remote control unit. Focus fader enhances the creative possibilities of these lenses while adding a unique look to the production.
When focusing is operated, the angular field of view normally changes, which creates an effect similar to zooming, This is called focus breathing. This compensation mechanism enables the angular field of view to remain constant by synchronizing the zoom movement to the focus movement, thus reducing image size change when focusing.
Standard on: Ah20x8, Ah24x7, HA22x7.2 and HA27x6.5

Fujinon incorporated the floating system in the design and manufacture of studio lenses. It minimizes variation of aberration due to object distance, and improves the balance between spherical aberration and peripheral image field curvature.
The on-board Fujinon optical program microcomputer controls the three mechanisms of iris, zooming and focusing, and the inner floating system is used in the relay lens to improve coma aberration and image field curvature.
The XA series filed lenses have incorporated the multiple moving zoom group system that has been developed for higher performance of HD lenses. This system has enabled reduction of coma aberration and field curvature caused by zooming to the extreme minimum for sharp imaging in high definition broadcasting. It has also slashed the lens size and weight for easier movement and installation in outdoor site.
All field lens series and HA27x6.5 series incorporate a fixed front element, which reduces dust contamination and serves as protection for the front focus group. A concealed compartment, which contains a drying agent, serves to reduce fogging of the internal lens components due to humidity. (Standard on: Field lens series and HA27x6.5)

Fujinon has developed a self-diagnostic system to provide immediate analysis of the lens electronics systems.
This system, called "Find" is available as optional the DIGI POWER Studio and Field lenses. Installing software for DIGI POWER in your PC allows a graphical user interface and provides improved diagnostic functions. (Standard on: DIGI POWER Studio and Field lens)
Fujinon's OS-TECH contains sensors to detect the slightest movement that could cause vibration. A correction signal is applied to the optical correction system, which helps to maintain a stable image while shooting from an unstable platform.
